Aram Adourian

Aram Adourian is a Science Partner at Flagship Pioneering focused on internal innovation and venture creation. He also serves as Senior Scientific Advisor for Pioneering Intelligence, a Flagship initiative that leverages innovations in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning across the Flagship ecosystem.

Prior to joining Flagship, Aram served as Chief Scientific Officer of BG Medicine, a Flagship Pioneering company that innovated and commercialized advanced diagnostic solutions to aid in the clinical management of chronic diseases. Aram has also served as a senior researcher at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research at MIT, where he developed novel systems and approaches for biomolecular sequencing, analysis and modeling. His career in the life sciences spans more than two decades, with roles in basic and applied research and in product development and commercialization. He is author or co-author of more than 80 scientific publications and patents.

Aram earned his Ph.D. at Harvard University in statistical physics and studied biophysics and mathematics at Cornell University.
