Seema Kumar

Seema Kumar joined Flagship Pioneering in 2023 as the Senior Director and Head of the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) and Bioanalytical Function at Pioneering Medicines. In this role, Seema and her team guide the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (commonly known as ADME) aspects of therapeutic agents developed within Pioneering Medicines programs.

Seema brings over 17 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Before joining Flagship Pioneering, Seema held the position of Director at EMD Serono Inc. where she led the Clinical Bioanalytical Sciences group, offering support in DMPK, Bioanalysis, and Immunogenicity for NBE and ADC programs. She also led the regulated Bioanalytical group at Pfizer.

Seema earned her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and has made notable contributions to the field through numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and by serving both as a book editor and chapter author. She has been invited to give talks at scientific conferences including AAPS, WRIB, World ADC, PEGS, Immunogenicity Assay Summit, Festival of Biologics, Biologics & Biosimilar Congress, NE-ADME, and APA., and has been involved in several industry consortia including AAPS, IQ, andThe Boston Society.
