Theo Proukou

Theo Proukou joined Flagship in 2022 as Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Partner. Theo leads Flagship’s human resources and recruiting teams in the creation and implementation of HR strategies, employee culture, and talent development programs for Flagship Pioneering and its companies.

Theo most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer at Flagship-founded Rubius Therapeutics, joining the company in 2017. He previously held human resources leadership roles in a diverse set of companies and industries. He spent 16 years at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, holding numerous roles with increasing responsibilities in human resources, and where he also held leadership positions in marketing and sales. Following Novartis, he led the HR team for Commercial and G&A at Vertex Pharmaceuticals and was soon promoted to Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Development. Prior to joining Rubius, Theo led the global HR business partner organization at TripAdvisor. During Theo’s tenure, both Rubius Therapeutics and TripAdvisor won best place to work awards including from The Boston Globe.

Theo received his B.A., M.S., and M.B.A. from St. Bonaventure University.
